Can I read while in treatment?
Yes, patients are typically allowed to read, and it can be a good way to relax and pass time during recovery. Our schedules allow for ample free time for recovery work and we encourage recovery-related reading materials. You can choose to read in many of our break out areas.
Can I use my phone?
When you enter treatment, your case manager will be in charge of your phone. You will be allowed to have time on your phone and Lakeside-Milam devices to email, text, call, FaceTime, etc family and friends during allotted hours.
Can I drink coffee?
Yes, in most cases, patients can drink coffee unless their healthcare provider advises against it. However, some conditions or medications may require limiting caffeine intake, so it’s always best to check with your case manager.
Can I vape or smoke?
Vaping and smoking are allowed in designated areas for patients. Nicotine can interfere with healing and recovery, and certain chemicals in vape products can worsen lung health. Always consult with your case manager based on your health history.
